Straight from the runway.
We might not be ready to leave summer behind yet, but autumn fashion is already looking at us, ready to jump in and make the rules. Returning to our social lives after more than a year spent living in loungewear (if you say you used to wear jeans even in lockdown, we just don’t believe you), means that the fashion machine is in full swing, uncovering all the trends that will dictate what’s in and what’s out for the next season.
To find out what our FAK top 5 (wearable) trends for A/W ’21 are, keep reading!
1. GRAPHIC LINER
One thing we did learn during the last fashion month is that there is way more than cat eyes and ordinary wings when it comes to eyeliner. Graphic shapes are the way to go and the cool thing about this trend is that you can choose which direction you want that felt tip to go. FAK’s favourite interpretation of this trend is the negative space shape offered by ERDEM during the fashion week show. Stunning and effortless!
2. SINGLE EARRING
This trend might come in handy when you are looking for your pair of statement earrings and you accidentally misplaced one (we know we can’t be the only ones whose jewellery has its own life and just disappears). In all honesty, if you pair a single earring with a series of small little cuffs on the other ear, the effect is a classy but edgy look that is absolutely everything you need to stand out from the crowd.
3. MONOCHROMATIC LOOK
Back to beauty – we are so happy to announce that this season you won’t need to use different shades of make-up trying to make them make sense, you will be fine using only one! Blush, lipstick and eyeshadow, all in the same colour family for maximum impact with minimum effort. Who’s ready for a beauty-berry galore?
4. PUNKED-UP OXFORDS
If you are too young to know what the 80s British counterculture is, stay with us! These heavy-soled laced iconic shoes are making a comeback with some interesting twists: studs, platforms and buckles will make people stop you in the streets asking for all the shoe details!
5. VESTS AND LAYERS
Brits love a good layered outfit and the next season shows nothing but love to this style. From tailoring to casual, let’s leave thermal t-shirts in the wardrobe for now and let’s try a sleeveless tweed jacket, paired with a white shirt and a crop top. Trust us, that’s all you will want to wear!
