In our last guide, we explored some great things to do in London but with so many options, Part 1 was not enough to fit them all in. So here we are with our much-needed second instalment! We couldn’t help but focus on Christmassy activities around town – which looks as lovely as ever! Scroll down to find out what we’ll be doing for the next month or so – soaking up all the Christmas vibes we possibly can.
London is not short of street markets. Be it food, vintage clothing or groceries, there’s always one happening near you. When it comes to Christmas markets, you can expect even more options, from the North to the South of the river. Some of our favourites are the Southbank Market and the Tower Bridge Market, around Hays Galleria and City Hall. Is there anything better than enjoying delicious food and doing some Christmas shopping with lovely river views? We don’t think so.
Not everyone is a big Christmas fan, we get that – we promise we won’t judge you. But even if you aren’t the most Christmassy person, we’re sure you’ll enjoy seeing the gorgeous and magical light displays in the streets. Head to Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Covent Garden (bonus: daily snow flurries there) or just to your local high street to get some festive feels and brighten up your mood.
It can be from the comfort of your home or at one of the many festive pop-up cinemas around London. Get cosy, grab a bag of popcorn and a hot drink, sit back and relax. If you’re a Christmas movie lover, we’d highly recommend experiencing Backyard Cinema’s Snow Kingdom or Winter Night Garden setups. Another option is Luna Cinema, which also doesn’t disappoint – movie night in Kensington Palace? Count us in.
If the activities above don’t quite do the trick for you and you want to immerse yourself in the most Christmassy event that the city has to offer, we have the perfect option for you, Winter Wonderland.
Gather your friends and family, wrap up and enjoy the rides, get some great food and – why not – some Christmas gifts. Don’t forget that this year the event is ticketed, so book in advance.
A Christmas guide wouldn’t be complete without a magical night at the theatre watching The Nutcracker. The ballet is back this year at the Royal Opera House from the 23rd of November until the 8th of January 2022, if you have never been, you need to. With the music, the costumes and the beautiful set design, you’ll be amazed by the production. Grab your tickets before they sell out!
Enjoy all the Christmas magic London has to offer! We promise you won’t regret it…
